Colourful tulips make Kyrenia blooming marvellous
Kyrenia Municipality has planted colourful tulips in various parts of the city. According to a statement made by the Municipality, the illuminated fountain, traffic islands and roundabouts in the city centre together with the Ramadan Cemil Square where the Kyrenia Municipal Building is situated, have become bright and colourful thanks to the work of the Parks and Gardens Unit.
Five different types of tulips were sent as a gift from Istanbul Municiplity and these are being cultivated in the greenhouse of the Parks and Gardens Unit of Kyrenia Municipality. The various tulip varieties which were cultivated and planted include early and medium flowering species. The Mayor of Kyrenia, Sumer Aygin says they have received very positive reactions by citizens. He said: “Our aim is to spread this beauty to the whole of Kyrenia. This work has been launched in certain regions of the city and will continue in different areas. Kyrenia will always be a green and colourful city.” |
